This is an old idea I repainted whilst playing about on a CS3 introduction course I'm attending. Its not much but I've redrawn this motif many times trying to get the impression of great size from both the moon and the planet beyond. It never quite works.

I must need to recalibrate my monitor at work, though. I can see the larger planet beautifully from home, but its not very visible on my office machine.
Are you hand-painting all elements of the image in Photoshop?
Most of them. Some of the images have cloud layers and the roids are all from NASA photographs
