Midtgaardsormen is one of the great dragons of Nordic mythology, a vast worm, he encircles the world of men, lying at the bottom of the world's oceans, grasping his own tail and awaiting Ragnarok. One of the children of Loki, the worm is the arch enemy of Thor whom he has already twice encountered.
